WHAT DOES HESED MEAN?

Hesed is the Hebrew word that describes God’s deeply faithful lovingkindness. There is no word in any other language that can adequately capture its meaning.

WHO DOES HESED HOUSE SERVE?

Hesed House serves young women who are pregnant and facing poverty, homelessness, family instability or other difficult circumstances. We provide a safe, nurturing environment where they can prepare for motherhood, discover their God-given value and build a foundation for a hopeful future.

WHERE IS HESED HOUSE LOCATED?

WHAT DOES HESED HOUSE PROVIDE?

Residents receive safe housing, nutritious food, pre-natal and maternal care, education, life skills counseling and vocational training, and spiritual encouragement. Our goal is not to simply meet immediate needs, but to equip young women to become healthy and able to provide for themselves and their children. 

HOW MANY GIRLS ARE LIVING AT HESED HOUSE?

IS HESED HOUSE A CHRISTIAN MINISTRY?

Yes. Our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the heart of everything we do. We believe every young woman is created in the image of God and possesses inherent worth, dignity and purpose. Residents are invited - not coerced - to explore the Christian faith, hear the message of salvation through the proclamation of the gospel, grow spiritually and experience the love and grace of Jesus Christ.

HOW DOES HESED HOUSE HELP YOUNG WOMEN BEYOND PREGNANCY?

We believe a safe pregnancy is only the beginning. Through mentoring and vocational training (which will allow young women to develop marketable skills) and continued support, we help young women build a hope-filled future for themselves and their children.

You can help Hesed House by praying for our residents, staff and ministry team, providing financial support, sponsoring educational opportunities, helping with fundraising efforts and partnering with us through your church or organization. Every donation helps young women move from a place of vulnerability and exploitation to a life of hope and purpose. 

Hesed House is a program of Hope Empowers, a ministry based in Indiana, PA., overseen by Hands Open Wide, an established 501c3 not-for-profit. All donations are tax-deductible.
